Are you ready to ROC? Join us for the 17th annual Families Run for Ovarian Cancer ROC Star Run/ Walk! The ROC Star event was started in 2006 by the Jorgensen family as their wife, mother and Nana, Brenda, fought her own battle with ovarian cancer. Sadly, she lost that battle in 2011 but the event continues to honor her spirit and to raise funds for ovarian cancer research and ongoing awareness programs through St. Louis Ovarian Cancer Awareness.

Participants can register for a timed 5k run/ walk or a 1-mile fun run/ walk - or if you can't join us in person you can ROC from Home! All event registration includes a limited edition shirt for all participants while supplies last. Please note ROC from Home participants' event shirts will be mailed AFTER the in-person event and a shipping charge of $5 will be added to each registration.

The event is family and dog-friendly and will include music by TKO DJs and will be emceed by our friend, KLOU's Judi Diamond. Flu shots will be provided on-site by Walgreens for those would would like to get one (ages 7+) and there will be snacks as well as roaming selfie stations and of course the beloved Bubble Bus.

Survivor Ceremony To recognize and honor our ovarian cancer survivors in attendance during our ceremony we will call each survivor by name and as they come forward we will share a flower and applaud them. All registered survivors in attendance should make their way to the stage for the ceremony and remain afterwards for a group photo.

Honor & Memory Wall The event will host an "In Honor and Memory" wall where participants can attach a photo, write a message, or share an inspiring quote and more. SLOCA will provide the materials but feel free to bring photos. Please note, materials affixed to the memory wall cannot be returned.

St. Louis North Side Trap Run

St. Louis, MO

The Northside Trap Run is St. Louis' first hip-hop themed 5K walk/run & festival that empowers North St. Louis neighborhoods and unifies grassroots, civic, educational, commercial and residential efforts to bridge the city's north-south divide.

We adopted the name “Trap Run” to celebrate the beauty that perseveres through struggle. Just as hip hop and trap music transcended hardship, our run highlights beauty in communities of St. Louis that too many ignore.

The family-friendly event is hosted by Young Friends of the Ville, a board committee of Northside Community Housing, Inc.

Fresh Produce Beat Battle

Sophie’s Artist Lounge , St. Louis, MO

Established in 2008, Fresh Produce is a monthly beat battle hosted by Basement Sound System & Suburban Pro Studios at Sophie’s Artist Lounge in St. Louis, MO.

Producers are invited to showcase their freshest beats and hottest tracks while competing for fame and fortune.

The purpose of Fresh Produce is to bring the producer to the front of the stage. Giving them a platform to shine, on their own, in front of an unfamiliar crowd of Heads and soon to be friends. A true, unbiased, instant judgement on the new sauce they have been stirring in the lab.

The Big Muddy Blues Festival was a staple of the regional music scene at Laclede's Landing prior to the pandemic and is coming back in a big way! This festival showcases St. Louis’s rich and historically vital blues music scene featuring various local blues and Black heritage bands, with a fantastic mix of local legends and up-and-coming musicians. The festival will be jam packed with music and activities on not just one, but two stages, located at Lumiere Place Blvd., and the Katherine Ward Burg Garden. Don’t miss out on this free event.
