I really wanted to meet this man and tell him how much his music influenced me and several generations. To have him as a mentor was a dream. Even before I knew who he was, his music had made a huge impact on me since a child. The large and grand arrangements, the many genres he covered, the many theme songs we all know and love, the groundbreaking projects he led, the timeless hits he made with legends. From his work with Michael, Frank, Nat, Stevie and so many others, to 'The Dude', to his early jazz work and compositions. I wanted to be Quincy. I wanted to make music as grand, dynamic, and full of so many layers like him. Still do. He is one of the reasons I LOVE layers of instrumentals and vocals on top of each other. He is the reason why I produce the way I do. Thank you for every single piece of brilliance you blessed our ears with. Thank you, Quincy. ♥️
